The turbofan engine designed specifically for the Sukhoi PAK FA fighter has made its first flight on the stealth jet on Dec. 5.
Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told the upper house of parliament that the Sukhoi PAK-FA stealth fighter will enter service with the Russian Air Force in 2019.
India is said to have ironed out issues on the development of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) with Russia and an agreement to finalize the deal is expected to be signed this year.
