France proposing to complete development of Kaveri as part of Rafale offset requirements

France is required to provide 50 percent offsets to India as part of the deal to sell 36 Rafale fighters to the Indian Air Force. Paris is hoping to take over and complete the devlopment of India’s Kaveri turbofan engine to meet some of those offset requirements.

Chinese space junk collector could double as anti-satellite weapon

China sent an experiment satellite into space during the maiden flight of the Long March 7 rocket on Jun. 25. Aolong-1’s mission is classified as space junk collection, however, analysts say the satellite can easily be converted into an anti-satellite weapon.
