AN/TPY-2 in Kyoto Prefecture

The second AN/TPY-2 X-band radar in Japan will likely be located at a base in Kyogamisaki, Kyoto Prefecture. The decision to base the radar in Central Japan could be due to the fact that any North Korean missile headed for Guam or Hawaii will fly over.

North Korea upgrading Tonghae launch site

38 North says North Korea is upgrading the Tonghae launch site with apparent help from Iran. A new launch site being build has a flame trench similar to one at a launch complex in Semnan, Iran.
