Mayor in Yamaguchi Prefecture against deployment of Aegis Ashore
The mayor of Abu, Yamaguchi Prefecture, has petitioned the central government to scrap its plan to deploy the Aegis Ashore system in the Prefecture.
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and U.S. Sailors manning the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (AAMDTC) at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Kauai, Hawaii, successfully conducted Flight Test Integrated-03 (FTI-03).

China confirms failure to put SAR spy satellite into space
China has confirmed that the launch of Yaogan-33 satellite aboard a Long March 4C rocket on May 23 has failed. The third stage of the launch system was to be blamed for the failure.

Gundam and Char’s Zaku to orbit Earth
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Tokyo University Graduate School of Engineering’s Aerospace Engineering department will be working together to send models of the original Gundam and Char’s Zaku from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime into space.
Yuzhnoye successfully carried out vibration tests of Cyclone-4M rocket
Ukraine’s Yuzhnoye has completed vibration testing of the fairing for the Cyclone-4M rocket. The company says representatives from Maritime Launch Services were on-site to observe the tests as well.
