South Korea’s intelligence service told lawmakers this morning that the North’s Pukguksong-2 solid fuel ballistic missile was fired at an angle of 89 degrees. If it had been traveling on a normal trajectory of 45 degrees, the canister launched missile could have a range of 2,000km.

In response to Pyongyang’s latest missile test on Feb. 12, South Korea is considering whether to test-fire its indigenous cruise missile or unveil a new ballistic missile that’s under development.
[Updated with video] North Korea has released images of the new Pukguksong-2 medium-range ballistic missile. The missile is based on the KN-11, cold-launched from a canister.
