Russia expected to launch missile early-warning satellite in November

At the moment, Russia does not have any early-warning satellite in geosynchronous orbit to warn of a missile attack. This is set to change in November when the first EKS satellite is launch into space.

Putin: Russia to add more than 40 ICBMs this year

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an arms fair west of Moscow on Jun. 16 that Russia intends to add more than 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) this year.

Last Kobalt-M spy satellite launched into space

Russia made a surprise launch of a Soyuz 2-1A rocket from the Plesetsk cosmodrome on Jun. 5. The payload is believe to be a Kobalt-M spy satellite.
