New Japanese cabinet to expedite on purchase of Global Hawk
The new Japanese government plans to buy one to three Global Hawks by fiscal 2015. The previous government had wanted to just study the use of large unmanned aircraft.

USAF told to improve UAV pilots’ promotion rate
The U.S. Congress has given the Air Force 180 days to report back on how it intends to improve promotion rates for UAV pilots once the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act is signed into law.

South Korea seeks 4 RQ-4 Block 30 aircraft
The Pentagon has notified Congress that South Korea has requested a possible sale of four RQ-4 Block 30 (I) Global Hawks with the Enhanced Integrated Sensor Suite (EISS). The estimated cost is $1.2 billion and covers training and logistical support.
