Taiwan said to be salvaging J85 turbojets for use on missiles
A report from United Daily News says Taiwan is studying how to salvage functioning General Electric J85 small single-shaft turbojet engines from its F-5 fleet and reuse them on missiles.

RAND says JASDF faces obstacles to match Chinese air activity in East China Sea
A report by RAND last month concluded that “resource constraints and limited inventories of fighter aircraft pose formidable obstacles to the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force’s ability to match Chinese air activity” in the East China Sea.

Poland to assume command of NATO Air Policing Mission in the Baltic states today
Poland has dispatched four F-16s to Šiauliai, Lithuania whereby the country will take command of the NATO Air Policing Mission in the Baltic states from Jan. 3.
