A F-16 pilot assigned to the 77th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron clocked 1,000 hours in combat on Feb. 28 during a mission in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Afghanistan.
The U.S. State Department has authorized the sale of 24 MK 15 Phalanx Close-in Weapon System (CIWS) Block IB Baseline 2 conversion kits to Japan.

Canada’s new CH-148 naval helicopters currently are not allowed to operate on board warships with its sonar attached due to a safety issue. The Royal Canadian Air Force has provided additional information on the nature of the problem with Defence Watch.
