Negotiations to sell more Rafales to Egypt hit new roadblock as U.S. blocks sale of SCALP
More troubles for Egypt in its quest to acquire another 12 Rafale fighters as it has emerged that the United States is refusing to allow the export a component that is needed for the SCALP cruise missile. Egypt refuses to buy more Rafales unless the deal includes SCALP missiles.

HMS Ocean sold to Brazil
The British government has sold the Royal Navy’s helicopter carrier HMS Ocean to Brazil for $117 million.

USAF to retire MQ-1 on Mar. 9
The U.S. Air Force has decided that the MQ-1 unmanned aerial vehicle will be retired from operational service on Mar. 9 at Creech Air Force Base.

3rd MAW retires AH-1W
The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) retired its last AH-1W on Feb. 6 with Capt. John T. Fischer and Capt. Daniel J. House flying the last Super Cobra to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
