Germany officially starts process to buy new heavy-lift helicopters

The top ranking officer of the German Armed Forces, Gen. Volker Wieker, has kick started the process to buy a new heavy-lift helicopter for the country, Reuters report.

Russia is working on VTOL fighter to replace MiG-29, Su-33

Russia’s Deputy Minister of Defense Yuri Borisov was quoted by Zvezda last month that Russia is working on a new vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft that will replace the MiG-29 and Su-33.

U.S. reported to be asking for $1.62 billion to upgrade HAF’s F-16s

Greek daily Kathimerini reports that Washington is asking Athens to pay $1.62 billion in order to upgrade 85 F-16s to Block 70 standard.

USAF’s last operational KB-50J is moving to a new home

Folks over at Warbird News says the KB-50J Superfortress, #49-0389, on display at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida is being dismantled for a long road trip to the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, Delaware.
