Raytheon to provide incremental software solution for AIM-120D

A $38 million cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract was awarded to Raytheon on Sept. 6. The company will have to provide an incremental software solution for the AIM-120D “to improve its performance against rapidly advancing threats.”

Last operational C-5A heads to boneyard

The U.S. Air Force has retired its last C-5A, #70-0461, with the mammoth jet heading to its final resting place at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Sept. 7.

28th person to fly the F-35 was killed in mysterious crash

The U.S. Air Force revealed on Sept. 8 that one of its pilot was killed in a crash on Sept. 5 while flying over the Nevada Test and Training Range.

TNI AU rotating F-16C/Ds to 16 Squadron, older A/Bs to be upgraded

The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has started the process of replacing the F-16A/Bs assigned to 16 Squadron at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base, Pekanbaru with newer F-16C/Ds.

Canada tried and failed to buy second-hand drones

According to Ottawa Citizen, the Canadian government tried to buy second-hand drones from allies last year. However, no country had excess unmanned aerial vehicles to sell to Canada.
