Chinese aircraft carrier base Shandong and three warships to visit Hong Kong for public viewing

China’s first domestically-built aircraft carrier Shandong will visit Hong Kong from Jul. 3-7 with three escort vessels, offering public tours for the first time to Hong Kong residents, China’s Xinhua News Agency reported Jun. 28.

Congressman Introduces Bill to Allow Medal of Honor for 100-Year-Old Korean War Pilot

U.S. Representative Darrell Issa has introduced legislation that would make a 100-year-old Korean War veteran eligible for the Congressional Medal of Honor more than seven decades after his classified combat actions that military historians consider among the most extraordinary in American aviation history.

France announces intent to procure Saab GlobalEye

France is moving to replace its aging airborne early warning fleet with plans to acquire advanced surveillance aircraft from Sweden’s Saab. The country announced its intention to acquire GlobalEye airborne early warning and control aircraft to replace its E-3 AWACS platforms, with a joint declaration of intent signed at the Paris Air Show on June 18, 2025.
