Angola might take over final 6 Su-30Ks

A report by Kommersant on Jul. 21 said Angola is negotiating to buy the six unsold Su-30K fighters. The African country had bought twelve former Indian Air Force Su-30Ks back in 2013.

Australia to sign MoU for MQ-4C in March 2018

Inside Defense has obtained a selected acquisition report which mentions the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Australia in March for seven MQ-4Cs.

Japan Coast Guard will stop relying on JMSDF for fixed-wing pilot training

The Yomiuri Shimbun reports that the Japan Coast Guard has decided to train its own fixed-wing pilots instead of sending them to the Maritime Self-Defense Force.

No more maintenance contract for India’s PC-7 Mark II fleet

The maintenance contract for the Indian Air Force’s 75 PC-7 Mark II trainers have expired and there are no plans to renew it, Defense News reports.

Pentagon wants this former Tomcat pilot to lead the 5th Fleet

The U.S. Department of Defense is planning to let Vice Adm. John Aquilino lead the Navy’s 5th Fleet. If confirmed, Aquilino would also assume command of Naval Forces Central Command.
