C-5Ms assigned to Dover AFB grounded

Eighteen Lockheed C-5Ms assigned to Dover Air Force Base have been grounded for inspections following an incident in Spain whereby a C-5M had a nose gear locking issue while landing.

Russia considering STOVL fighter

Russia’s Deputy Defense Minister Yury Borisov said on Jul. 17 that his ministry is in talks with the Russian aerospace industry on “the development of an aircraft with a short take-off and landing, possibly with a vertical take-off and landing.”

U.S. transferring two Cessna 208s to Philippines

In an interview with ANC news channel, the U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim disclosed that Washington is preparing to transfer two Cessan 208s with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities to Manila.

Chinese sprinter Zhang Peimeng was a guest in CCTV variety show Cheers Science in which he had to race against a GAIC FTC-2000 and Chengdu J-10. Zhang beat the FTC-2000 but lost to the J-10.

VFA-115 clocks 100,000 Class “A” mishap-free flight hours

A rare feat for a U.S. Navy fighter squadron, VFA-115 announced that the unit had surpassed 100,000 Class “A” mishap-free flight hours on Jul. 3.
