MiG Corporation working on long-range interceptor

MiG Corporation’s general director Ilya Tarasenko told Kommersant newspaper that his employees are busy working on a long-range interceptor that can replace the MiG-31.

USAF wants to upgrade 841 F-16C/Ds to 13,856 airframe hours

The U.S. Air Force has decided that 841 of its F-16C/D fighters will undergo the service-life extension program (SLEP) that will extend each jet’s structural service life from 8,000 to 13,856 hours.

Saab hopes to start Gripen negotiations with Bulgaria after summer

An executive from Saab told reporters in Sofia on Jun. 14 that his company hopes to begin negotiations to sell the Gripen fighter after this summer.

Boeing bags Qatari F-15QA contract

Qatar has signed the contract to buy 36 F-15QAs from Boeing. Qatari Defense Minister Khalid Al-Attiyah was in Washington to sign the FMS agreement with his counterpart Jim Mattis.
