The Airbus C295W medium transport operated as an aerial refueling tanker on Sept. 29 for the first time. The tanker was equipped with a palletized air-to-air refueling unit and a Spanish Air Force C295 made several contacts with the drogue.
The French Air Force’s 02.005 Fighter Squadron will mark its 75th anniversary this month and the squadron has painted one of its Mirage 2000 in a special paint scheme for the occasion.
The lost of a Israeli Air Force F-16I from 119 Squadron was probably due to a weight imbalance issue that the pilot was trying to rectify while returning to land at Ramon Air Force Base.
