F/A-18s tried to stop Russian Su-34s from bombing U.S.-back Syrian rebels

U.S.-backed Syrian rebels stationed near the border with Jordan was pounded by a pair of Russian Su-34 fighters last week. The Pentagon quickly diverted two F/A-18s to the scene to stop the air strikes but the Russians resume their bombing once the jets left for refueling.

Pentagon strikes ISIL using Harriers flying out of the Gulf

For the first time in Operation Inherent Resolve, the U.S. Navy has launched airstrikes against ISIL from two different operational theaters.

Boxer is the flagship for the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 13th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
