Two IDF fighters that were assigned to flight test duties with CSIST will be transferred back to the RoCAF. This allows the fleet size to grow to 129 aircraft.
AIDC has given the nickname, blue magpie, to its XT-5 advanced jet trainer concept. The bird lives in the mountains of Taiwan and is very defensive of its nest, thus AIDC considered it as an appropriate name for the jet.
The last active-duty U.S. Navy aviator to shot down an enemy aircraft, Vice Adm. Mark I. Fox, has retired on Apr. 22. Fox and his wingman, Lt. Nick Mongillo, were on a bombing mission on Jan. 17, 1991, when they were vectored to shot down approaching Iraqi MiG-21s.
