Indonesia selects Chinese Type 730 CIWS for its KCR-60M missile attack craft

Two Indonesian Navy missile attack craft, KRI Sampari (628) and KRI Tombak (629), will both gain a stern mounted Chinese Type 730 close-in weapon system (CIWS) when they undergo refit later this year.

Taiwan developing indigenous fighter engine

Chang Guan-chung, head of National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST), told legislators that his institute has started a research program to produce an indigenous fighter engine.
