Equatorial Guninea is the newest operator of C-295

Equatorial Guinea has placed an order for two C-295 aircraft, one will be for troop transport while the other will be configured for maritime surveillance.

Russian Mi-8 crash kills 4

Four people aboard a Russian Army Mi-8 helicopter were killed when the rotor-craft went down in Pskov region northwest of Moscow on Feb. 8.

USN has started the process to bring P-8A to Iceland

The fiscal 2017 defense budget has an item to upgrade an aircraft hangar at the former Naval Air Station Keflavik in order to support future P-8A missions out of Iceland.

Pakistan Army Aviation Mushshak crashed

A Pakistan Army Aviation MFI-17 Mushshak crashed on Feb. 9, killing two on board the aircraft. The aircraft was on a training mission when it went down near Gujranwala.

China summons South Korean envoy to protest against THAAD deployment

South Korea’s Ambassador to Beijing, Kim Jang-soo, was summoned by China’s Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin on Feb. 7 to protest Seoul’s decision to start talks with Washington over the deployment of a THAAD unit in South Korea.
