First C295 flight to Antarctica

A C295W from the Mexican Navy flew to Antarctica on Nov. 27. Landing at Argentinian Marambio Base, in the Seymour Island, the aircraft was the first C295 to ever visit Antarctica.

MQ-8C completes operational assessment

The MQ-8C completed its three week operational assessment on Nov. 20 after flying 11 flights and clocking 83.4 flight hours in the process.

DARPA abandons plan to launch satellites using the F-15

It’s back to the drawing board for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as the research agency had to abandon a plan to use a F-15 to launch small satellites into space.

DC-3 painted in IAF colors will soon head home to India

A DC-3 that was restored in the U.K. will soon depart for India where it will join the Indian Air Force vintage squadron. The service will now have to decide whether it will dismantle the aircraft and ferry it home or to make the long distance trip home.

Indian Air Force wants to do more frequent testing of road runways

The Indian Air Force has written to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for permission to conduct more testing of landings and take-offs from highways.
