Northern Strike 24-2 Exercise tackles emerging aerial threats with innovative training platforms

The Michigan National Guard is hosting Northern Strike 24-2 (NS 24-2), a large-scale military exercise focusing on countering emerging cruise missile and unmanned aerial system (UAS) threats. Running from August 3-17, 2024, the exercise utilizes the expansive Michigan Airspace Complex, encompassing over 17,000 square miles.

NS24-2, one of the Department of Defense’s largest reserve component readiness exercises, is scheduled to take place at Michigan’s National All Domain Warfighting Center (NADWC) from Aug. 3-17, 2024. Over 6,300 participants from 32 states and territories and several international participants will converge at the NADWC. U.S. and Italian Navies complete landmark Multi-Large Deck Event in Indo-Pacific

The U.S. Navy’s Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and the Italian Navy’s Cavour Carrier Strike Group have successfully concluded the first-ever bilateral Multi-Large Deck Event (MLDE) in the Indo-Pacific region on August 9. This groundbreaking exercise brought together over 7,500 personnel from both navies, showcasing advanced maritime integration and combat readiness.

Leapfest 2024: International airborne competition returns to Rhode Island

The 2024 edition of Leapfest, the prestigious international airborne competition, took place on August 3 in Exeter, Rhode Island. Hosted by the Rhode Island Army National Guard, the event brought together elite paratroopers from U.S. military branches and allied nations.

Hosted by the Rhode Island Army National Guard, Leapfest is a prestigious annual operation aimed at fostering camaraderie and Esprit de Corps among airborne soldiers from across the globe. The competition draws participants from allied foreign militaries as well as all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
