U.S. AFSOC demonstrates Highway landing capability with AC-130J

U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) made history by successfully landing an AC-130J Ghostrider gunship on Highway 63 in Bono, Arkansas. This unprecedented feat, conducted as part of the Emerald Warrior Field Training Exercise II, showcased AFSOC’s commitment to Agile Combat Employment (ACE) and its ability to operate in austere environments.

Indonesia plans fighter jet deployment to El Tari Airport

The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) is planning to establish a new fighter jet base at El Tari Airport in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The move aims to bolster Indonesia’s air defense capabilities in the southern region, particularly along its border with Timor Leste and Australia.

116th Air Refueling Squadron celebrates Centennial

The 116th Air Refueling Squadron, part of the 141st Air Refueling Wing, is marking its 100th anniversary with a special ceremony at Fairchild Air Force Base on Aug. 4th. The squadron, originally formed as the 116th Aero Squadron in 1917, has a rich history dating back to the early days of military aviation.

Slovakia to acquire 12 AH-1Z attack helicopters

Slovakia is set to acquire 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters from the United States as part of a defense deal linked to the country’s support for Ukraine. The agreement, valued at approximately $600 million, includes the helicopters, associated equipment, training, and AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles
