U.S. study recommended slowly shifting Afghan Air Force to U.S. helicopters

Crew inexperience and fatigue behind C-17 short landing

On May 9 this year, a C-17 landed 1,000 feet short of the runway at Dover Air Force Base. Investigations by Air Mobility Command found that crew inexperience and fatigue were the main causes.
