Video Synthetic Aperture Radar for AC-130

DARPA has awarded a $2.6 million contract to L-3 Electron Devices for the Video Synthetic Aperture Radar (ViSAR). This prototype radar will allow the AC-130 to detect targets through cloud cover and dust storms.
