Indian Air Force Mi-17s collided in mid-air

Nine on board two Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopters were killed when both aircraft collided in mid-air in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region on Thursday.

CAPES program to update USAF F-16s with new capabilities

Around 300 F-16s from the U.S. Air Force will undergo a combat avionics programmed extension suite (CAPES) upgrade to install new AESA radar, ALQ-213, an integrated broadcast system (IBS) and a center display unit (CDU).

Lockheed Martin gets contract to add Israeli equipment in F-35A

NAVAIR has given Lockheed Martin a $206.8 million contract to add Israeli equipment in the F-35A. The project is to be completed by 2016.

Switzerland to lease 11 Gripens and treat it “like a deposit”

Swiss Air Force Commander Markus Gygax said in an interview that Switzerland will lease 11 Gripen C/D fighters from Saab and treat it “like a deposit” in event that Saab is unable to delver the Gripen E/F on time.
