A CH-53D Sea Stallion acted as a ground refueling tanker for two AH-1W Super Cobras in Afghanistan on Aug. 17. This marked the first time the CH-53D had been used to rapidly refuel helicopters in a combat environment.

Production versions of the F-35 have been cleared for flight. Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon agreed that revised emergency procedures governing IPP failures allows the aircraft to keep flying while investigation into the IPP failure continues.
