Malta’s Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi told a press conference that his government refused to allow a Libyan jet, carrying pilots to fly back 2 Mirage F1s, to land in his country.

Belarus violated U.N. embargo by shipping 3 Mi-24s to Ivory Coast

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon said Belarus has broken an international arms embargo on Ivory Coast by supplying the government there with three Mi-24 attack helicopters.

Construction Begins on U.S. Navy’s Newest Aircraft Carrier

A “first cut of steel” ceremony was held at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Newport News on Feb. 25. The steel plate cut will be used in the construction of the carrier, which has yet to be named, but will be designated CVN 79.
