Raytheon has won a $42.8 million contract to train Afghan air force pilots in the Middle East. The company is in talks with Pakistan for a similar deal as well.

Capt. Mike Polidor has won the 2011 Col. James Jabara Award for Airmanship for coordinating precision strikes involving 19 aircraft during a firefight in Afghanistan.

Chinese fighter designer Tu Jida has passed away on Feb. 16. Tu was responsible for designing the CJ6, J-5, JJ5, J-7II and J-7M.

ATK to modify 2 Jordanian CASA-235 into gunships

ATK announced it has received a contract from the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) of the Kingdom of Jordan to modify two of the country’s CASA-235 transport aircraft into gunships.

Pentagon IG clears USAF over KC-X data mix-up
