Charles de Gaulle underway for Afghan mission

France’s sole aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle left port yesterday for a four-month mission in the Indian Ocean to fight pirates and support NATO troops in Afghanistan.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has begun flight testing the new computing hardware and communications infrastructure that will eventually allow the B-2 stealth bomber to send and receive battlefield information by satellite more than 100 times faster than today.

U.S. Air Force officials announce C-27J aircraft basing proposal

U.S. Air Force officials announced Oct. 13 that Great Falls International Airport, Mont., is the preferred alternative to be the seventh operational location for bedding down four C-27J Spartan aircraft.
