USAF wants to field low-collateral damage MK82s in 6 months

The U.S. Air Force is seeking to build 125-175 carbonfibre-wound warheads to turn the MK82 into a low-collateral damage bomb.  The first 50 could be delivered in January 2011.

Turkey to lease 9 A129s as well

Turkey’s Defense Minister Vecdi Gönül revealed that besides buying nine A129s, Turkey will lease nine Mangustas and is seeking nine Bell AH-1W Super Cobra helicopters as well.

RAF Merlin went down in Afghanistan, USMC CH-53E come to rescue

HT to Rotorhub.  A RAF Merlin helicopter made a heavy landing at a base in Afghanistan on Jun. 23.  A CH-53E Super Stallion from HMH-466 was able to quickly mount a Tactical Recovery of Aircraft or Personnel (TRAP) mission to recover the aircraft on Jun. 26.
