Noda: Japan has no say in Osprey’s deployment

Speaking on television, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said the deployment of MV-22s to Japan by the U.S. is out of his government’s control.

Noda said the planned deployment is part of the U.S. government’s defense policy which the Japanese government has no say in.

However, he added that Tokyo will do everything it can to ensure the safety of the aircraft.
