Philippine Defense Undersecretary Fernando Manalo has confirmed that AgustaWestland was awarded a contract to supply eight AW109 light attack helicopters last month.
These helicopters, armed with .50 caliber machine guns and rocket launchers, could enter service next year if the budget is released soon.
