Japan is allowing Mitsubishi Electric to export its fighter radar under new export rules. Mitsubishi Electric produces the X-band J/APG-1 AESA for the F-2 fighter.

This radar is in the second generation, there is already J/APG-2 / 1216Tr
In 2010 Mitsubishi received a contract to upgrade 70 radars J/APG-1 for J/APG-2 version and in 2014 received a new contract for another 40 units.
