The Pentagon’s top weapons buyer, Frank Kendall, has made it clear that Lockheed Martin’s F-35 stealth fighter is not available for export to the Gulf region in the near-term.
“I think it would be a very sensitive sale to try to bring about for a lot of reasons.”
Kendall added that existing fourth-generation fighters field by nations in the region is sufficient to meet their defense needs.
