India’s planned satellite tracking station in Vietnam has military applications

India plans to set up a satellite tracking and data reception centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and analysts are saying that the facility will allow India to monitor Chinese military activities that are far from its border with China.

In return for hosting the facility, Vietnam will get access to images downloaded from India’s remote sensing satellites.

No timeline has been set for the completion of the $23 million facility.
