Australia is also a prospective customer for V-22

Bell Helicopters believe that Australia is a prospective customer for the V-22 and Japan might order more than 17 tiltrotors.

Richard Harris, Bell’s vice president for international military sales, said 17 aircraft is insufficient for Japan to cover the defense of its remote islands.

Bell thinks the V-22 is suitable for ferrying Australia’s special forces due to its unique range and speed.
