Bid to stop sale of F-16s to Pakistan in U.S. Senate fails

An attempt by U.S. Senator Rand Paul to block the sale of 6 F-16Ds and 2 F-16Cs to Pakistan has failed. Senators voted 71-24 to approve the sale.

However, a hold by Sen. Bob Corker to disallow the U.S. to subsidise the purchase is still in effect.
