Another warship, USS Blue Ridge, the command ship of the United States Seventh Fleet is currently in Hong Kong and a spokesperson for the Pentagon said that visit is unaffected.

An anonymous U.S. Navy official told Reuters the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s commissioner in Hong Kong said it was “not convenient” at this time for Stennis to visit.
