Luftwaffe won’t cancel A400M purchase but will supplement it with another transport

German government sources told Reuters that Berlin will not be canceling its order for the Airbus A400M despite current teething issues with the delivery of aircraft.

Instead, the Luftwaffe might get other type of transport aircraft as the A400M is unable to operate out of small airports.

Other options being explored include “leasing capacity from other countries, or perhaps joint purchase and operating agreements with allies.”
