A U.S. Air Force infographic on the F-35A’s deployment to Mountain Home Air Force Base revealed that the jet scored a 8:0 kill ratio against the F-15E during mock air combat.

The victories were clocked by combat-coded F-35As from Hill Air Force Base and were part of the evaluation process needed in order to declare the jet is initially operationally capable.
The seven jets and their pilots must also demonstrate they are able to carry out basic close air support and limited SEAD/DEAD missions.
For that, the crews were able to attain a 100 percent sortie generation rate with 88 of 88 planned sorties and a 94 percent hit rate with 15 of 16 GBU-12 bombs on target.
what about going against f15c?
I’m not suggesting it’s made up, but what’s the source on the 8:0 ratio? The http://www.acc.af.mil article doesn’t mention that figure.
@lawrence johnson – depending on the specific F-15C and F-15E, the E model can be superior at A2A; the only real difference between the two is ~3000lb of extra dry weight on the E model. If an E with -229 engines and an APG-82 goes up against a C model with -200 engines and an APG-63(v1), it’ll defeat the C model in both the BVR and WVR fight.
The DOT&E was established by Congress to provide objective test and evaluation of systems prior to deployment, with the objective of preventing the fielding of useless, burdensome systems to active units. In other words, to remove the services from propagandizing with phony tests like this one. Real F-35 operational test & evaluation may start in a couple years, if they ever correct deficiencies and finish the software.
Pit it against the F15-C a pure fighter, not a hybrid mud mover/quasi fighter F15-E and see if the results change. Also turn off the data link to the E-3.
