J-15 landed and pitch up rapidly before it crashed

A video by the Chinese military has revealed more details into the crash of a J-15 carrier-borne fighter in Apr. 27 this year that killed its pilot.


A senior officer disclosed in the video that Zhang Cao had landed his aircraft when the nose pitch up rapidly and he struggled to push back the control column. He choose to eject when the jet had pitch up to 107 degrees, well outside the parameters of his ejection seat. His parachute failed to fully deploy and he later died of his injuries.
