Israeli Air Force switching to new water extraction model

The Israeli Air Force has changed the way it extracts aircrew from water scenarios after taking into account lessons learned in the crash of a F-16D in 2013.

Instead of repelling into the water, rescue operators will now jump straight into the water. Statistics show that the operators from the SAR Unit 669 can now reach aircrew in seconds instead of minutes.
