ISIL has switched to a new tactic in Iraq, insurgents rigged an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with explosives and used it to attack Kurdish and French forces.

The attack north of Mosul left two Kurdish fighters dead and two French soldiers fighting for their lives.
Media reports said the drone was shoot down and it only exploded when the soldiers approached it.
