An anonymous source said to be close to the PLA’s equipment department told the Hong Kong daily that the Central Military Commission has given its blessing for the move.

China is said to be able to utilize the EMALS on a conventionally-powered ship thanks to a break-thru in developing a medium-voltage, direct-current transmission network.
