Work on X-47B halted due to GPS glitch

It has been revealed that a glitch with the GPS system affected the flight testing of the X-47B earlier this year.

The glitch also affected more than 8,000 deployed military GPS receivers.

The root of the problem was caused by a part called the Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) that was unable to authenticate a new messaging format implemented as part of an upgrade.
