RAF to shink to WW1 size

The Royal Air Force will shrink to its smallest size not seen since World War One due to budget cuts.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the service will lose 7,000 airmen – almost one sixth of its total staff – and 295 aircraft.

Besides losing the entire fleet of Tornado GR4 fighter bombers, the Eurofighter size will shrink from 160 to 107 planes.

36 C-130s is to be phased out and replaced by an order of 22 A400Ms.
