Iceland could be home for large fleet of Su-27s

A private company is proposing to base 33 Su-27 fighters in Iceland for dissimilar air combat training with foreign air forces.

Financial Times reported that ECA is talking to the Icelandic government to rent a former NATO air base and park the jets there.

The fighters will be supplied by BelTechExport, a Belarusian arms export company. ECA has agreed to buy 15 warplanes with options for 18 more.
