Charles de Gaulle out of action for “several weeks”

France’s only aircraft carrier cannot proceed on its mission to support troops in Afghanistan as a safety valve aboard needs to be changed.

Charles de Gaulle had to return to port one day after it set sail for its mission in the Indian Ocean.

Initially, it was taught that the fault lies in the electrical cabinet in the propulsion system. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that a safety valve was the root of the cause.
